COME BACK OFTEN
Shortly some info about playing Lotto Powerball. For now a few words about the most often asked question on playing Lotto. "Should I keep playing the same numbers or not ?".
According to the best technology we can manage each draw IS random. Therefore it really doesnt matter whether you play the same numbers each week or not.You may for example play some numbers from a list of the "most often drawn" numbers on the theory that since they are drawn more often having them on your tickets if/when drawn will better enable your chance of winning. Then again you could play the "least often drawn" numbers on the theory that soon they should get a turn !
It seems reasonable to suggest that over time the total number of times each of the 40 balls is drawn will become evened out - but - how much time ?
Try tossing a coin. Toss it 10 times - you may get 8 "heads" and 2 "tails" or you may get more even results. However to get a really good and even representation of possible draw results for your coin I would reccommend 1000 tosses. Now, a coin has two sides ......how many "sides" are there in Lotto....? The database of draws must become FAR bigger before we begin to see a glimpse of "eveness" in number distribution. Another common misconception is that people can see "patterns" emerging in Lotto draw results. Lets go back to the coin...ok ?...Now toss it 9 times and get 9 "tails" ....Would you take a bet that a 10th toss would be more likely to be a tail than a head ? The 10th toss has the same chance of being a "head" or a "tail" as all the other tosses. Just 50/50. It is NOT more likely to be a tail. Now this helps dispose of the "pattern" theories. Because yes, sometimes, in retrospect we seem to see a pattern to the draw numbers, but you MUST remember. The next draw IS random. !!!
